Product Description

Jalapeño M is the proven strain of the Mexican classic – the chili that is at home worldwide on pizza, in salsas and as pickled rings. What makes Jalapeño M special? Speed and heat on demand. With a short vegetation period of just 65–75 days it is one of the earliest chilies of all – ideal for shorter summers. And you choose the heat yourself: picked green, the fruits are pleasantly mild; as they ripen to a rich red they develop noticeably more fire. The fleshy, thick-walled fruits grow 7.5–8 cm long – exactly the right size and wall thickness for stuffing (jalapeño poppers!), salsas and pickling. Unlike thin-walled varieties, they stay crunchy. The variety is extremely adaptable and thrives equally well in the greenhouse, outdoors and in pots on the balcony. Start indoors from February/March at 25–28 °C and plant out after the last frost. Who is this variety for? Beginners (fast, robust, forgiving), Tex-Mex cooking, and anyone who prefers moderate heat with plenty of flavour. Open-pollinated – you can save your own seed.
