Emiko H is a universal Chinese cabbage hybrid that elegantly solves the two biggest problems of this crop: disease and time pressure.
What makes Emiko H special? The resistances. Clubroot is every cabbage grower's nightmare – a soil fungus that renders infected beds unusable for years. Emiko H is resistant to it, as well as to rot. Add the short vegetation period of only about 65 days: this hybrid also fits as a follow-on crop, for example after early potatoes or peas.
The tightly closed heads reach 0.9–1.6 kg and can be grown flexibly – for spring, summer and autumn harvests. The autumn crop is especially valuable: stored cool and dark, Emiko H keeps for months and provides fresh vegetables well into winter.
The variety does best in light to medium sandy loam or loam soils with even watering. Both direct sowing and transplanting work.
In the kitchen, Chinese cabbage is a multi-talent: crunchy in salads, classic for kimchi, flash-fried in the wok or as mild cabbage rolls. Who is this variety for? Anyone who wants a dependable cabbage harvest – especially on soils where clubroot has already struck.
