Rosario H is the answer to the most common question about growing melons in a temperate climate: is it even possible in our weather? With this variety: yes. What makes Rosario H special? The adaptability. This early hybrid was developed specifically for less-than-optimal climate conditions and delivers high yields even in cooler weather – where other watermelons produce only vines without fruit. Early maturity is the key: Rosario H makes optimal use of the short warm window of a Central European summer. The round fruits with dark green rind reach a handy 3–4 kg. The deep red flesh is remarkably juicy and aromatic – proof that compact home-grown melons can easily match imported ones in flavour. Growing follows the usual watermelon routine: start indoors from late April (germination at 25–28 °C), plant out after the last frost.
