Product Description

Nimba is a particularly productive zucchini variety that does two things faster than most: grow and deliver. What makes Nimba special? The speed and the looks. You pick the first fruits just 45–50 days after sowing – zucchini are among the fastest vegetables anyway, and Nimba is one of the earliest among them. The cylindrical fruits are light green with striking darker stripes and grow remarkably uniform – every fruit in the harvest basket looks made to match. The pale, firm flesh has a fine, mild flavour and makes Nimba an all-rounder in the kitchen: raw and in salads, fried, steamed, grilled or for preserves and zucchini relish. Like all zucchini, Nimba is a heavy feeder and rewards nutrient-rich soil with all the more fruit. The bush habit stays compact. Most important harvest tip: pick the fruits young at 15–20 cm – that is when they taste best and the plant keeps setting new ones. Overlook one, and you famously get a giant marrow. Who is this variety for? Anyone who wants to harvest fast and plenty – two plants supply a family all summer long.
