Product Description

Regina is a perennial everbearing alpine strawberry that combines two worlds: the intense wild flavour of woodland strawberries and exceptionally large, deep red fruits. What makes Regina special? Speed and stamina. Just about 3.5 months after sowing you pick the first sweet berries – and the plant then keeps producing tirelessly from June until the first frost. Instead of one short season like garden strawberries, you harvest a handful of aromatic fruit almost daily for months. The plants are wonderfully low-maintenance: they thrive in medium soils, tolerate partially shaded spots and are perfect as bed edging, for rock gardens, balcony boxes and pots. Regina produces practically no runners, so it stays compact and tidy. The small fruits are true power packages: rich in iron, potassium, zinc and other important minerals – and the undisputed star of any snacking garden with children. Who is this variety for? Families with kids, balcony gardeners and anyone who wants fresh berries all summer long without much work. Sown once, Regina keeps producing for several years.
